DESCRIPTION:Starting in January 2018\, Paid Family Leave (PFL)\, one of the most comprehensive family leave plans in the country\, will take effect in New York State.  What does that mean?  How does it impact you? Can you opt-out?  Learn the answers to these and other questions from ESC's HR Compliance Officers\, Cindy Lawrence and Sharyn Weinfurtner. \n\n\n\nCindy joined ESC in 2011 as a Human Resources Consultant.  Cindy's experience prior to joining ESC includes her role as Divisional Manager of Human Resources with a global manufacturing company headquartered in Buffalo\, where her responsibilities included employee relations (fostering a continued union free environment)\, full cycle recruitment processes and on-boarding\, performance management\, corporate training\, and regulatory compliance.  Cindy has also served in the HR function at a major regional bank\, and as a consultant Business Partner to owners and management for clients of a Professional Employer Organization. \n\n\n\nSharyn joined ESC as a Human Resources Consultant in 2004.  Her background includes 23 years of human resources experience as both a manager and a generalist with manufacturing firms.  This includes five years with Swagelok Corporation where she handled all the day-to-day human resources functions including recruitment\, employee relations\, compliance\, and payroll.
