DESCRIPTION:The Chamber is offering an OPEN PRONET on the second Tuesday of the month. Everyone is welcome.\n\n\n\nThe format will include introductions/elevator pitches and a special guest speaker.\n\n\n\nJoin University at Buffalo School of Management Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Managing Director Erin McGee and take a look at how big small business is\, and some best practices that leaders can take when building and executing their organization's strategic vision.  Having a vision of what your business will become and mapping for the course ahead ensures your venture will remain competitive and relevant.  In this session\, we will explore a simpler way to those results in a "living plan" that will engage and align your team while focusing on accountability and execution of your team's vision.\n\n \n\nErin's bio: \n\nAs a passionate advocate for small business\, Erin deeply understands the power that entrepreneurship has to create jobs\, inspire wealth and invigorate economies and communities across the globe.\n\nMs. McGee started her career at the headquarters of 84 Lumber Company\, a family-business outside of Pittsburgh\, managing store operations. From there she moved to the hospitality industry with a focus on developing both local and national markets for Hyatt\, Hilton and the Canada-based Vintage Hotels. During that time she was part of the opening team for the Embassy Suites Buffalo\, Buffalo's first new-full service hotel in 25 years. She was immediately intrigued by the impact that a new small business can have on a community.\n\nIn 2012\, Erin was brought on as the Assistant Director at the UB School of Management's Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership where she works with a dedicated team that is equally passionate about advancing the Center's mission of supporting entrepreneurs and their dreams. In recent years the Center has expanded its sophisticated interdisciplinary approach to educating emerging business leaders through experiential learning and mentoring. The CEL team has twice been recognized as one of the Top 100 Small Business Influencers in North America.\n\nErin has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from Ohio University and an MBA from D'Youville College.  She has a Simplex Levels 1 & 2 certificate from the Basadur Applied Creativity School in Ontario.  Erin serves on the Board of Directors for the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and is a former Board members for the NYS Business Travel Association.  She lives in Lancaster with her husband and 2 children.
