The Connection between Art, Story, Poetry, and Photography by Carol Conwall
Carol Conwall, a photographic and graphic artist from Clarence, NY, uses photography to artfully reminisce about a time gone by, to capture the wonderment of our heritage, and to rekindle the conversational art of penning a note. She began Carol Conwall Card Design in 2007, which is also known by Buffalosmark. She designs novel, fine art compositions that are uniquely stylized. She captures her images from an eclectic genre, including flora, fauna, architectural, and historic subjects. Her signature piece for western New York is “The Buffalo,” a whimsical Buffalo caricature, capturing the beauty of Buffalo, the grandeur of Buffalo’s architecture, and a sense of community. Come and enjoy viewing and learning about photography as art from a photographer’s perspective. Her talk will present the following topics:
The three simple photography variables of light, subject, and composition.
The emotional message of photography.
The appeal of art to the senses.
The story behind the art.
The relationship poetry has to the art.
