POSITION OVERVIEW
Arts Services Inc. (ASI), a nonprofit 501c3 organization located in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a full-time Fiscal Associate to play a key role in ASI’s shared service bookkeeping program for the Western New York arts and culture field. This hourly, non-exempt position will be employed by Arts Services Inc. doing the bookkeeping duties for other nonprofit arts and cultural organizations (‘Clients’).
Duties and Responsibilities
The Fiscal Associate will work closely with the Fiscal Manager to provide bookkeeping services for several
different nonprofit organizations under the direction of the Executive Director.
- Perform Bookkeeping tasks per Client needs. This could include:
- Process accounts payable/accounts receivable
- Create financial statements and/or reports
- Reconcile accounts
- Participate in Client’s annual budget process
- Assist in the Client’s audit process
- Participate in committee meetings, if necessary
- Additional tasks performed for ASI, includes:
- Assist the Fiscal Manager with general bookkeeping functions during high peak times
- Participate in ASI’s annual budget process
- Participate in the annual audit process
- Create reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience in bookkeeping, fiscal reporting, and Microsoft Office Suite (or similar), as well as a degree and/or training in a relevant field is required. Experience with Quickbooks is required, and experience in nonprofit financial best practices are desired. Knowledge of database programs, such as CRM, is a plus.
CPA certification is not required. He/She/They should have the ability to multi-task and be flexible to seasonal and Client requested fluctuations in workload.

Reporting and Other Details
The Fiscal Associate works with the Fiscal Manager and reports to the Executive Director. Other responsibilities may be required. This is a full-time, hourly position that will include periodic evening and weekend work. Overtime opportunities may be available per approval.
Benefits include paid holidays (15), PTO time (starting at 4.5 weeks/year), retirement, and a stipend for health insurance/dental. Compensation rate will be determined by experience and qualifications (salary range of $50,000 - $55,000, including the health stipend).
