BANK ON BUFFALO JOINS SHOP 716 TO THANK LOCAL FRONTLINE HEALTHCARE WORKERS

BankOnBuffalo Joins with Shop 716 to Thank Local Frontline Healthcare Workers by Helping With Purchases of Needed Apparel
Workers Can Purchase Scrubs, Uniforms and Footwear in Holiday Gift Event

BUFFALO, N.Y. – BankOnBuffalo has stepped up this holiday season with the Shop 716 Program to thank local frontline healthcare workers by providing workers with gift card access to Buffalo Scrubs & Uniforms for needed job apparel.

Through BankOnBuffalo’s lead sponsorship, a $50 Shop 716 eGift Card redeemable at Buffalo Scrubs & Uniforms will be provided to 126 local healthcare workers -- including nurses, doctors and other professionals who assist in patient care. Forty-two eGift Cards will be distributed to respective workers by each of the three local healthcare system foundations at Catholic Health, Erie County Medical Center, and Kaleida Health.

The eGift Cards can be redeemed at Buffalo Scrubs & Uniforms for various job apparel needed by these workers to perform their healthcare tasks – including scrubs, uniforms and footwear.

Announcement of the venture was made today at a media event at Buffalo Scrubs & Uniforms which included representatives from BankOnBuffalo, the healthcare foundations and the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, the administrator of the Shop 716 program.

BankOnBuffalo donated $4,000 as the lead sponsor and the Erie County Corporate Giveback Program provided an additional $2,500 for the purchase of the eGift Cards for healthcare workers.

“BankOnBuffalo welcomes the opportunity to work with the Shop 716 program to express our gratitude this holiday season to frontline healthcare workers for the dedication and sacrifices they have made during the past year in providing the best healthcare possible for our local communities,” said Michael Noah, BankOnBuffalo president.

“It is times like these where the Western New York business community comes together to say thank you and to help those professionals who are on the frontlines of our access to quality healthcare,”
said A.J. Baynes, president/CEO of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce. “I applaud BankonBuffalo for their continued commitment to our community.”

“The Kaleida Health Foundation is honored to help distribute these generous gift cards to our very deserving healthcare workers,” said Carol Horton, vice president of the Kaleida Health Foundation. “As the pandemic continues to loom over us, the support of the community at large is just what our caregivers need to help them get thru every single day as they continue to deliver best-in-class patient care.”

"The Foundations of Catholic Health are extremely grateful for the generosity and thoughtfulness of BankOnBuffalo and Shop 716 with their donation of gift cards to our healthcare heroes," said Craig Harris, vice president of Development at Catholic Health.

“On behalf of ECMC’s frontline nurses, who every day provide their patients with high-quality, kind and compassionate care, we are grateful to Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, BankOnBuffalo, the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and Buffalo Scrubs and Uniforms for coming together and very generously providing Shop 716 gift cards to our dedicated nurses,” said Karen Ziemianski, ECMC’s senior vice president of Nursing. “Over the past nearly two years our community has repeatedly shown their steadfast support of our frontline caregivers and this yet another wonderful demonstration of that special appreciation for our nurses’ unflagging commitment to keeping our community safe and healthy.”

Shop 716 supports local restaurants, retailers and attractions. With more than 800 participating merchants, the program has generated more than $1.2 million in new revenue through gift card purchases for local small businesses.
