Canal Bank Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for New West Seneca Office 8/11/2026

Earlier today, Canal Bank, a division of Chemung Canal Trust Company, officially broke ground on its new West Seneca branch office, located at the corner Union and Seneca Roads. The new office is expected to be completed and open to the public in January 2027.

“This is a prime location in West Seneca,” according to Vincent M. Cutrona, President of Canal Bank. “Our new facility will be highly visible and easily accessible for the members of our community,” he added.

The 2,700-square foot, free-standing facility will be the second Canal Bank branch and the 31st branch of Chemung Canal Trust Company.

“West Seneca is a strong community with a long history of supporting local businesses and families," said Cutrona. "Its central location makes it an important gateway to the surrounding Southtowns and the greater Buffalo region, allowing us to better serve both existing and future customers. The community values local relationships, and that's exactly how we approach banking. We're excited to bring local decision making and personalized service closer to the people and businesses we serve.”

The office was designed by Carmina Wood Design, and Resetarits Construction is the General Contractor for the project, which is being built for Julius W. Aebly, Jr., President of Aebly & Associates Insurance Services, Inc., who will then lease the facility to Canal Bank.

Canal Bank is a division of Chemung Canal Trust Company, a full-service community bank with full trust powers. Established in 1833, Chemung Canal Trust Company is the oldest active and independent bank headquartered in New York State.
