AMHERST, NY –Amherst Chamber of Commerce President/CEO A.J. Baynes announces the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the second location for Fresh Catch Poke Co. at the new 500 Pearl/Aloft Hotel building in downtown Buffalo on Friday, October 25.
Fresh Catch, the area’s first dedicated poke bowl restaurant, opened its first location in 2018 at 5933 Main Street in Williamsville. Its downtown Buffalo restaurant is a refined casual experience with a full bar, offering curated wines, cocktails and mocktails featuring fresh pressed juices, house made bitters and syrups, and a thoughtfully selected draft and can beer list.
“The Chamber was there for the opening of the first Fresh Catch Poke Co. and is so excited to join owner Mike Tobin for the opening of his second location,” says Baynes. “We are so proud of how his business has grown in less than two years and wish him much success at 500 Pearl.
“We are very happy to welcome Mike Tobin and Fresh Catch,” says William Paladino, CEO of Ellicott Development, owners of newly-built mixed-use structure at 500 Pearl. “He will be an exceptional addition to the complex and provide a great destination for people in downtown Buffalo.”
“We are continuing our journey to bring affordable, healthy seafood to WNY, and I could not be happier to be working with Bill Palladino and his team at Ellicott Development,” says Tobin. “Their vision for the 500 Pearl complex is coming together, and we will help further that vision by proving a unique experience for our guests.”
Fresh Catch provides direct access for guests from the Franklin Street side of the complex, and there are more than 300 covered parking spots in a ramp on the interior of the building that allows access to the restaurant through the main hotel lobby.
Poke is a traditional Hawaiian dish made with the spirit of sushi but deconstructed to enhance and elevate each of the ingredients. Fresh Catch Poke Co. investigates every fish partner to ensure they meet its standards before the product is served. It works primarily with suppliers in Hawaii, Boston and the Faroe Islands, some of the world leaders in aquaculture management. Fresh Catch makes one simple commitment: Although its sources may change based on seasonable availability, every fish used is sourced from a sustainable, eco-friendly partner.
