AMHERST, NY – Amherst Chamber of Commerce President/CEO A.J. Baynes is announcing a Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for businesses who need assistance meeting the new state requirement.
Starting this year, the state is mandating all businesses provide sexual harassment prevention training for their employees on an annual basis. New employees are required to receive sexual harassment prevention training within the first month of employment.
“It’s vital training, but the Chamber understands what a tremendous undertaking and financial commitment this kind of mandate can be on small businesses,” says Baynes. “That’s why we are providing this service to both members and non-members.”
The two-hour course will be guided by a panel of experts, led by Kaylynn Adkins of Employer Services Corporation, who will conduct the training from every aspect: how to spot sexual harassment, how to stop it, what are your rights as a victim and what is your liability as an employer?
Joining Adkins on the panel are Frank LoTempio III, a defense attorney at LoTempio Law Group and Erin Ewell, an employment attorney at The Coppola Firm.
To comply, employers register themselves and their employees at amherst.org. Upon completing the training, participants will receive certification that the NYS mandate has been met.
WHAT: NYS Compliant Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Course
WHERE: SUNY Erie North Campus
WHEN: Thursday, February 28, 2019
Networking: 8 a.m.
