PAINTING WITH A TWIST OPENS IN AMHERST

AMHERST, NY –Amherst Chamber of Commerce President/CEO A.J. Baynes announces the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Painting with a Twist.

Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting. Its classes feature local artists teaching step by step the specific painting of the day. Acrylic paints, a 16″ x 20″ canvas and other painting supplies are provided. No experience is necessary, and you take home the artwork you created at the end of the class.

“We welcome Painting with a Twist to Amherst,” says Baynes. “It’s another creative outlet in our community for residents of all ages to enjoy.”

Painters are encouraged to bring beverages and snacks and those age 21 and older can bring their favorite wine or beer.

Painting with a Twist is located at 2860 Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst. It’s a franchise owned by Debbie Peterson, a Buffalo native who recently moved back to Western New York after spending 13 years in Largo, Florida.

“It means a lot to be able to return to the area where I grew up to start this business,” says Peterson. “This is home, and I want to do whatever I can to help this area flourish.”

Painting with a Twist has open classes for individuals or small groups, and holds parties for adults, families or kids in groups of 12 or more.

Painting with a Twist began in 2007 by two women helping to bring business and fun to their Hurricane Katrina-devastated community in Louisiana. There are now more than 340 locations in 39 states, including two others in WNY. There are Painting with a Twist locations in West Seneca and Lancaster.
