True North Refillery Opens in East Amherst: 6/9/2026

 
AMHERST, NY — Amherst Chamber of Commerce President & CEO A.J. Baynes will join Chamber member True North Refillery and the community for a ribbon cutting at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 4790 N. French Rd., East Amherst, NY 14051.
 
True North Refillery is a newly opened, eco-conscious retail shop helping Western New Yorkers reduce household waste and single-use plastics. Rather than buying new plastic packaging with every purchase, customers bring reusable containers to refill everyday essentials from laundry detergent, dish and hand soap, and cleaning products to shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and skin care. The shop also stocks reusable household items and eco-friendly alternatives to help shoppers cut waste and shop more intentionally.
 
The concept pairs environmentally conscious shopping with education around reducing waste and choosing safer products. "We wanted to create a space where people could make small, realistic changes that have a positive impact over time," said owner Jeannine Ruffino. "We truly believe small changes can make a big impact and that we can offer products that are better for you and better for the environment."
